Week Three: Brothers Wind And Air

Points to Ponder

Facts about Air

  1. On average, air pollution takes one to two years off the typical human lifespan. In California, up to 17,000 premature deaths are due to particulate air pollution.
  2. Did you know that more hazardous pollutants are discharged into the air each year than are released to surface water, ground water, and land combined?

Positive/Uplifting Fact

  1. In 2008, wind machines in the United States generated a total of 52 billion kilowatt hours, about 1.3% of total U.S. electricity generation. Although this is a small fraction of the Nation's total electricity production, it was enough electricity to serve 4.6 million households or to power the entire State of Colorado.
