1. What similarities did you identify between nature-based Franciscan teachings and the Buddhist notion of Deep Ecology? What differences did you note?
   
   
2. Share with one another sufferings and struggles that you and/or your community are currently facing. In what ways do you harbor and foster hope?
   
   
3. We often numb ourselves to difficult situations, desiring not to experience pain or discomfort. In doing so, we impair the potential for transformation of situation and self. In what ways do you avoid painful realities? In what ways are you willing to challenge yourself to swim in the fullness of life... to experience the bad with the good, the sorrowful with the joyful, such that true transformation can take shape?
