Politics and Spirituality
September 8-10, 2006 Pasadena, California
Friday Night Movie: Amazing Grace

An epic story of abiding faith and uncommon courage, William Wilberforce and a community of abolitionists awakened the conscience of a nation, taking on the most powerful interests of their day to end the British slave trade. Among Wilberforce’s allies was John Newton, former slave trader and later the composer of “Amazing Grace.” It is the true story of a reluctant leader called to do the impossible and the loyal friends who risked everything to join him.

From Bristol Bay Productions, Amazing Grace is coming to theaters in early 2007 to coincide with the bicentennial of the abolition of the slave trade.
